Lackman Lofts

Downtown Cincinnati lofts were taken to a new level when Lackman Lofts opened in 2009 at the corner of 13th and Vine Street.  Originally built by brewer Herman Lackman for his namesake saloon, the building also housed Lackman’s brewery, which was renowned for making some of the finest brews of Over-The-Rhine’s heyday.  Eventually, Lackman’s brewery was bought by Cincinnati’s own Hudepohl Breweing Company in the 1930s.

Condos in Cincinnati have rarely been opened to more excitement.  Among the cool features in Lackman Lofts are natural lighting via floor-to-ceiling bay windows, Cincinnati Rookwood tile above the kitchen sinks, and cantilevered decks that provides unobstructed views of Washington Park and Music Hall.  The characteristic features of loft apartments include exposed brick and ductwork, hardwood floors, granite countertops, custom shelving and gas fireplaces that have been usefully placed in the original mantelpieces.

Developed by Bill Baum’s Urban Sites, Lackman Lofts is among many pioneering projects that the company has undertaken in Over-The-Rhine over the past quarter century.  Other projects include The Lofts on Broadway, Duveneck Flats, Trideca Lofts, and Good Fellows Hall.
